About
I graduated from the University of Washington in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Design in Interaction Design. Our class of 13 designers were the first students in the UW Design program to focus on IxD, and I was selected from the IxD senior class to be one of two class representatives responsible for selecting where student work would be displayed in the senior show. A group project I worked on my senior year, Apt, was selected to be presented at the Microsoft Design Expo, and our group went on to win the “best presentation” award. I also received a minor in Art History.
Since August 2021 I have worked as a product designer at Qualtrics, a B2C SaaS company focused on experience management. I have shipped multiple high visibility features such as Research Hub and Purpose-Built Apps, and have worked in various areas of the product with many different product teams.
Before beginning at Qualtrics I spent 9 years working at Vectorform LLC (now incorporated into Launch), which allowed me to design for a large variety of platforms. I designed experiences for Windows 8, Windows 10, Vive, HoloLens, Google Glass, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, various iOT hardware, web, and android/iOS mobile platforms. I also performed user interviews and user research, created product roadmaps, and produced prototypes for enterprise and customer-facing products.
In my free time, I like spending time with my wife and toddler, working on my house, traveling, learning about analog synthesizers, identifying mushrooms & birds on hikes, and engineering small-scale combat robots.
